Crazy me. I thought North Carolina was having budget problems, but that is obviously wrong. Otherwise they wouldn’t be advertising to lease more than 1 million square feet of office space that will house more than 1,300 Department of Health and Human Service workers who will be displaced from the Dix Campus. Sources tell me these buildings on the Dix campus are not in the best of condition, but most are very useable and it would certainly be cheaper to repair something we already own than to pay rent on new buildings. But here’s the real puzzle: there isn’t a building in the Raleigh area that has this kind of space, which means we will be spreading these offices all around and employees will have to travel more.
All of this so we can turn the Dix campus into a park? Somebody help me understand
