After SPIN! Video: Do Legislators deserve a raise?

Published March 1, 2017

After SPIN! "Question to Joe Mavretic and Dennis Wicker - Since colonial times North Carolina's legislative body has consisted of part-time citizen legislators.  In recent years, cost of election campaigns has escalated, service in the Legislature has required a larger amount of our lawmaker's time and there have been proposals to make our legislators full-time or at least raise their compensations and expense allowances.  Salaries, per-diems and mileage reimbursements haven't been raised in 20 years.  What do you think of proposals to increase legislative compensation?"
