"Question to Becki Gray and Rufus Edmisten – Recently the North Carolina Museum of History Associates cancelled a Casino Night fundraising event after Republicans criticized Governor Cooper for violating a law he refused to change. In 2017 the legislature had passed a law that allowed nonprofits to occasionally hold casino nights to raise money. Governor Cooper vetoed the bill and lawmakers didn’t have enough votes to override the veto. Should these casino nights be allowed? Can they be held on state property? What restrictions need to be in place?"
