"Question to John Hood – You have reminded us on several occasions that the state budget is not the $21 billion the legislature approves but also includes about $29 billion more in federal grants, incentives and aid. Sarah Curry from the John Locke Foundation recently wrote a column stating that about 42 percent of our total budget comes from the feds, but there are strings attached which force us to do things we might not wish to do. She says we need to push back from federalism. Do you agree? Why or why not?"
