"Question to Chris – U.S. District Court Judge Catherine Eagles stopped the redistricting of Greensboro City Council seats in elections this fall, saying the legislature was singling out Greensboro in prohibiting them from determining the type of government they have. But the big controversy surrounded the fact that nobody from the state or the legislature showed up to defend the law. Legislators said Attorney General Roy Cooper’s department should have. Cooper says the legislature should have done so. The Greensboro News and Record says sooner or later the legislature should get the hint and butt out of local issues.
