Mooresville, NC
In the late 1800’s Mooresville was a quiet mill town in Iredell County, next to rail lines headed toward nearby Charlotte. Now known as “Race City USA,” Mooresville doubled in size when sixty NASCAR race teams, including Penske and Dale Earnhart, located there. One of two wind tunnels for testing aerodynamics in the nation is here.

NASCAR Technical Institute and the PIT Instruction and Training Facility have helped bring in over a billion dollars in new investment. Mooresville is the sixth fastest growing community in the state, doubling in size since 1990.
Mooresville is home of Lowe’s Home Improvement corporate headquarters. There’s also close access to Lake Norman, water parks, and rides on the Catawba Queen replica steamboat at Queen’s Landing. The Mooresville drag strip debuted a new Carolina Cup series this year.
