Huntersville has grown 728 percent in the past decade, currently boasting 38,000 residents. Construction boomed when Lake Norman was constructed nearby. One visit show why Money Magazine named it one of the top 100 communities in America and one of the top 20 places to retire.
Rural Hill Farm, settled in 1760, is the oldest and largest publicly owned historic site in Mecklenburg County and host to the Loch Norman Highland Games. The Latta Plantation showcases life on a 19th century farm. World Cup Diving competitions are held at the Family Fitness and Aquatics Center.
Baseball knuckleballer Hoyt Wilhelm grew up here and a host of NASCAR drivers and professional athletes live here.
