Dennis Wicker

Former N.C. Lieutenant Governor Dennis Wicker is a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Raleigh office. He offers government relations experience to clients, having served in the state’s second highest government position and as a longtime member of the state’s largest legislative body. Dennis served two four-year terms as North Carolina’s Lieutenant Governor (1993-2001). He was a member of the N.C. House of Representatives for 12 years prior to becoming Lieutenant Governor and was elected House Majority Leader by his peers during the last two terms.

 

A native of Sanford, he remains active in the state and his community and in 2003 led the effort to create the Lee County Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in the county. The foundation initiated the Head of Class Project that has raised more than $1 million from local businesses. He was recognized with the 2016 Champions for Children by the N.C. Foundation for Public School Children for his lifetime of service to education.
