Lanier M. Cansler
Lanier has a deep knowledge and working experience in both public and private healthcare services organizations. He was a co-founder and president of Partners Healthcare Group, Inc., where he helped transform a five-physician practice into one of the largest allergy and asthma specialty practices in the country. In 1994, Lanier was elected to the N.C House of Representatives where he served four terms. In 2001, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, where he later served as Secretary from 2008 to 2012. Lanier now serves as an independent healthcare services consultant.
