Jeanette Hyde

Jeanette HydeThis week’s notable Jeanette Hyde, of Raleigh, has worked and served this state in business, civic, charitable, academic, and political affairs. Jeanette has the heart of an entrepreneur, involved in the start-ups of several businesses, two banks, and the Golden Corral Restaurant chain. A very private person, Jeanette is often thrust into very visible rolls and handles them with grace. She served on the NC Department of Transportation Board and was called to be US Ambassador for 7 Eastern Caribbean countries, negotiating drug trafficking and money laundering treaties. For her work on these treaties she received the Coast Guard’s highest civilian award. Jeanette currently serves on the Wake Forest University and Western Carolina University boards, as well as the Methodist Home for Children. Active in Democratic Party politics Jeanette’s endorsement is one of the first sought by state and national candidates. She frequently hosts charitable and political causes. For her countless contributions in so many aspects of our life we are proud to recognize Jeanette Hyde as this week’s NC Notable.
