Nido Qubein

Nido QubeineNido Qubein, is a rags to riches story. Nido came to America as a teen, knowing little English and virtually broke. Hard work, a charismatic personality, and great communications skills led to his financial fortune, but more importantly, enabled Qubein to become a philanthropist and civic leader. He currently serves as President of High Point University and in short order has successfully completed the largest fundraising drive in its history while inspiring this campus to grow to 3,000 students from 33 countries. Nido’s private foundation provides 48 scholarships a year to deserving young people, to date handing out over $3 million in education funding. His Great Harvest Bread Company has 210 stores in 39 states and his public relations company is known nationwide. The author of five books, several audio and video learning programs Qubein speaks to over 100 groups each year. For his inspirational example, his inexhaustible energy, and his legendary leadership we are proud to recognize Nido Qubein as this week’s NC Notable.

Driver’s Ed Needs a Tune-up

We have enough money to do a mediocre job of training our teens to drive but not enough to do it right.
