Jerry Miller
 Whether sketching a rural church or drawing for a President, this week’s NC Notable, artist Jerry Miller, wants to preserve North Carolina for generations to come.
Miller has crafted a reputation as a top-notch pen and ink artist of architectural buildings. His eye for detail is captured on a large selection of historical landmarks, churches, schools, and colleges statewide, although some remember him for drawing blueprints of colonial homes. Miller has won numerous awards and has presented two Presidents with drawings.
If Jerry Miller was to draw his life on paper, however, it might resemble a map of Cary. His nearly half-center of devotion to the city includes originating the largest one-day art festival in the state - Cary Lazy Days - thirty years ago. Miller has also drawn posters for Raleigh, drew Wake County’s flag, and lends his skills to many festivals and fund-raisers.
His community spirit and strong desire to foster the state of the arts in North Carolina makes Jerry Miller this week’s NC Notable.
