James “Mickey” Efird
 For over 45 years James “Mickey” Efird has been training new pastors at Duke Divinity School and teaching Bible studies in churches around the state. Many describe Dr. Efird as “the Andy Griffith of the chalkboard,” although students sometimes call him the smiling assassin because of his difficult exams. Affable, intense, and passionate about his teaching, and his Christian faith, Efird is everyone’s favorite Bible teacher.
Fluent in Hebrew and Greek, Mickey is a master communicator and makes complex scriptures understandable to pastors and laypeople alike. Efird has written 13 books and over 60 articles, but is most widely known for the Bible studies he teaches in churches of most all denominations. A series of video-based Bible study courses recorded in front of live audiences is available and is now being used in over 900 churches nationwide.
