Tom Bradshaw
Tom Bradshaw is a champion for transportation and that has taken him around the world.
Bradshaw is managing director and co-head of the Transportation Group at Citigroup Global Markets in New York. He got his start in newspapers, then in real estate. His election to the Raleigh City Council propelled him into the public arena. He became Raleigh’s Mayor in 1971 and spearheaded the Falls Lake project to provide the city’s long-term water supply. Governor Hunt appointed him as Secretary for Transportation and in that role he helped get I-40 funded to Wilmington.
Tom’s record propelled into onto the national stage and he now divides time between Raleigh and New York, but he is still active in North Carolina civic affairs. The list of his local and national achievements is impressive.
Bradshaw continues to push for transportation in our state, especially a regional transportation system in the Triangle. He enjoys is four children and eight grandchildren.
