Obama's fail

Two headlines this week tell why even President Obama’s fans despair sometimes.

First, while Obama and his staff focused on rolling out his free-community college proposal, they neglected to send anybody to the biggest story in the world: the Paris rally against terror. Second, while the President was giving a speech on cybersecurity, our military’s social media sites got hacked.

Mere symbolism, you might sniff. But Obama’s greatest failing as a leader is not understanding the importance of symbols like these. It’s not enough to get the policies right. It’s just as important, or more important, to show presidential and national strength.

Democrats didn’t lose in November because voters dislike Democratic policies nor like Republican policies. They lost because Obama looks like a weak President, not strong enough to fix the economy and keep American safe and strong.

For all the talk about a comeback in his last two years – “Obama being Obama” – the President’s problem isn’t fixable. His image is fixed, and Americans are turning to what they want in the next President.

Here’s betting they’ll want a man, or a woman, who is least like what they like least about Obama. They’ll look for a strong President to replace one who looks overwhelmed and over his head.

Frank Burns says:

Agreed and the public is not happy with Obama priorities. Coming up with more programs that cost money while our deficit continues to grow is not adult behavior but more like teenager behavior. In addition Obama keeps blaming Congress for the gridlock but the problem is him. He never learned how to govern and negotiate (5 terrorists for one American deserter). Every other president in our history has been able to work with the opposition, except Obama.

Bravo, Gary! I would like to add that it appears the president is trying to "change the subject" in Congress and the media with his flurry of ideas of unrealistic domestic programs. IMO he's not totally delusional about what is going on in the world but wants to distract Congress and the American public from attempting to repeal parts or all of his Executive Orders dealing with legalizing millions of illegal aliens moving toward mass amnesty for illegals and Obamacare which is going to adversely affect each American and does not address the real problems in health care costs in the U.S. IMO that's his strategy behind all of these new policy ideas he's trying to sell across the country; his advisers have not given him good advice and he doesn't have a handle on what tax-paying Americans who vote are thinking or want. His biggest failure is his unwillingness to acknowledge and deal with the very real threat of Islamic Jihad against the U.S. and Western civilization and failure to enforce U.S. Immigration laws to help protect the U.S.
