Scott Bryant is a lifelong production and livestock farmer from Chatham County. He’s not a politician and doesn’t pretend to be one. Bryant, 44, is a working farmer who believes the Department of Agriculture needs new leadership and a new direction.

Economy and Jobs

We are facing the toughest times since the Great Depression. I’m tired of accepting business as usual. We need new leadership who won’t be afraid to shake things up in Raleigh. We need a working Commissioner who will stand up and fight for our farmers, our consumers and agribusiness in North Carolina. It’s time to shake things up in Raleigh.

Leadership

I will offer farmers and consumers new leadership and a strong voice to promote agriculture and food safety. Farmers across the state are tired of having the bureaucrats in Raleigh tell them how to farm. We need a Commissioner who will listen to our farmers and work on their behalf – not the pencil pushers in the corner offices at Agriculture on Edenton Street. I will bring a new “can-do” attitude to the department. I will show up for work every day and put the interests of our consumers and farmers first and foremost as your Commissioner of Agriculture.
