This is a strange story – the national debt’s $37.8 trillion. Our annual deficit is $1.9 trillion. We’re in debt up to our eyeballs. But, at the same time, the government’s spending more than anyone in the U.S. to run ads – political ads. How much? $51 million.
Who’s in the ads? Kristi Noem, Trump cabinet member. She calls her political ads public service announcements about immigration.
Who made the ads? A team that worked in Trump’s 2016 campaign – when Corey Lewandowski ran the campaign.
Who’s Noem’s top advisor? Lewandowski.
Who’s praised most in the ads? Donald Trump – in ads running on Fox News, CBS, NBC, ABC, local TV stations, and Google.
And, at the same time, the government’s shut down because we’re spending too much money.
What kind of sense does that make?
