A new obsession

The war in Iran, started by Donald Trump, is raging with no end in sight. Prices around the world are escalating. Gasoline prices in America are so high, regular people are struggling to make ends meet and the Bureau of Labor Statistics just reported that over the past twelve months inflation is now at a seasonally adjusted 3.8 percent, well about the 2 percent target.

Instead of strategizing how to get us out of the mess Trump created, he is obsessed with his big, beautiful ballroom. He carries an artist’s rendition of it around in his coat pocket. It’s all he wants to talk about.

How detached can somebody be? He has squirrels in his head that are taking him to places where he is more comfortable. He is not a natural born leader. He is a real estate magnet who sold America a bill of goods.

It’s too late to return the gift of Donald Trump. We are stuck with him for another thirty-one months.Who knows how much our Republic will need to be rebuilt, even if it can be rebuilt?

For the past few years, my writing has been focused on a resistance to Donald Trump. The hate mail has come regularly. I figure that is part and parcel of my fight.

The rot is eating into everyday people’s lives now. More and more people are questioning how our state of affairs has deteriorated so much in such a short time.

I am not going to say, “I told you so…,” but I did!

MAGA has taken root, and bit by bit, eaten away at civil rights and the freedoms of America. As the screw tightens and more are feeling the pinch, many of them are dropping out of MAGA like flies.

Donald, with your 14 years of abusing the presidential office and institutions of our government, the pain is coming ever closer to us. We feel it viscerally. We don’t like it.

You were an anomaly, certainly not presidential like the presidents before you. There were a few rogue guys, but none as corrosive as you.

Options to slow or remove you have failed. Sycophants in the Congress have let you get away with murder. Part of the blame for allowing you to dismantle Democracy is on them. We voters will remember who they are. History is recording this era. It will not be kind to any of you.

Your fifteen years of screwing the American people is up. Your staunchest supporters see the handwriting on the wall. I expect they are praying they will get out of the Trump Cult before they are destroyed.

Go ahead, like sugarplums dancing in your head, dream of your ballroom, your big arch, reflection pool, your new Air Force One and other delusions. We will see where this goes. Some of us will enjoy the show of your downfall. You have taken us to the brink. The wheels are coming off your presidency now and there is not much you can do about it.

Perhaps you would have been better off if you had actually tried to lead ALL of us.

I don’t wish Trump hart. I just wish him gone!
