After SPIN! Video - 11/2/14 - Question to Doug Raymond – "Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger says he will introduce legislation to allow magistrates to refuse to marry gay couples because of their religious convictions. What do you think of the idea? If magistrates can refuse to follow this law are there other laws they can also refuse to follow?"

Lloyd V. Evan, ll says:

Our founders never conceived that matters of law were to be "written" by jurists. If law is written, and it doesn't marry up constitutionally, a jurist can toss it back to those in the legislator to rewrite until it is.
