After SPIN! Video - "Should the DOT have given extra raises?"

Published April 29, 2019

Question for Peg O’Connell and Patrick Sebastian- The 2018 state budget had a provision that allowed DOT to boost salaries for certain jobs in which state pay was no longer competitive. As a result some 7,500 DOT employees got double digit pay increases in many instances. The issue is pay for state employees. In the past 10 years they got zero pay increases for five years, two years they received a flat $1,000 bonus and three years with 2 percent increases. Comment on the DOT situation and the larger issue of pay for state employees.
