North Carolina’s Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper has sent out a fundraising missive following up on an article he wrote in the Huffington Post, that praised the leadership of former Gov. Terry Sanford but attacked the Republican leadership of the legislature.

“We want to make sure Roy’s message reaches as many people as possible,” said the fundraising email sent by Morgan Jackson, Cooper’s political consultant. “People need to know that someone is standing with them against the past 10 months of extremist policies hurting our state.”

That drew a rebuke from state Republican Party chairman Claude Pope, who suggested that Cooper was spending more time running for governor in 2016 than being attorney general.

“Last year, North Carolinians didn’t realize they were electing a part-time Attorney General,” Pope declared. “It’s time for Roy Cooper to stop his non-stop campaigning on the taxpayer dime and refocus his energy on the job he is being paid to do.”

Norm Kelly says:

Since Roy is so obviously spending more time campaigning for Governor than doing his current job, will liberals continue to insist that he is capable of defending laws passed by this legislature and governor?

What part of Roy's current stand against this administration shows that he is capable of doing any part of his job? If the current administration were Democrats and the AG was a Republican, would the Democrats sit back & let the Republican AG get away with what Roy is doing? Of course not! Don't kid yourself if you don't believe me.

The Democrats would find a way to get rid of an AG who was so publicly opposed to them. Even if it violated some law somewhere. They'd find a way.

But the liberal media that supports Roy won't let this administration show ANY LEVEL of disrespect to Roy. He is a Democrat, and therefore above reproach. Because he's a die-hard liberal, he is completely capable of separating his personal thoughts on laws from his political thoughts on the same laws. Just listen to what they say, how they say it, you also will realize that liberals believe Democrats to be holy. Regardless of what Roy says, who he says it to, how he says it, people like the N&O continue to believe he is capable of defending laws he hates in court. Laws he is vehemently opposed to, believes actually does damage to NC citizens, he continues to be able to defend in court. But only because he's a Democrat. If he were a Republican, you can bet the Democrats and their ardent supporters at the N&O would be calling for his resignation at the least, his head would be better. They would be calling for a special counsel from every rooftop in Raleigh (and probably Charlotte too)! As a Democrat, he is above question. Because he's one of them.

It's time for thinking people, people who know that conservatism beats liberalism every time, to stand up for what is right. It's time for conservatives to make more noise than the liberals. It's time for the producers to stand up for ourselves! It's time for us to say 'enough is enough' and the line has been crossed to 'too much' already!
