Time for the 25th

In the aftermath of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, legislation was passed that would permit the Congress to remove a president who was deemed unfit for office. It became the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
It is time for the Cabinet and our Congress to act and remove Donald Trump from office. With the war he started in Iran, he has created an existential threat for the world. Iran did not capitulate and roll over to Trump’s “incursion.” Instead, they used their natural resources and big brains to close the Strait off Hormuz.
Thank you, Donald, for raising gasoline prices across the world. Thank you for singlehandedly causing inflation and prices to rise. You have always believed you were above we “little people” who actually drive and shop and cook. Your rarified existence is costing all of us now.
I can hear Sarah Brightman singing, “Time to say goodbye.”
It is painful to see you try to carry out your duties. You are often sleepy and confused. Your diminished capacities are on full display. All the world sees it now. You have a hard time forming words and speaking in adult level sentences.
That you have been corrupt, braggadocious, and generally unpleasant has appalled us since 2014. That you are a convicted felon is a matter of record. Now your beloved stock market is losing ground. Your oligarch friends will not be pleased. Any Americans who have small investment portfolios will suffer also.
You have dragged America into a ditch. Our Allies don’t trust us.
You are working to quiet journalists through intimidation and threat. You have stopped funding of the arts and higher education. You want to slap your name on everything that doesn’t move, because you know that after you are gone, your name will go down with the names of people like Hitler and Stalin. Nothing has shamed you. Impeachment failed more than once.
Even a bullet to the ear did not take you down. In fact, it emboldened you to rachet up the hate and hurt to the American people.
We know decency is not in your wheelhouse. Still, it is quite shocking how the strength of your personality has created a sick cult who seem happy to follow you anywhere. That seems to be changing now. People are realizing that you are a paper tiger, a sad man in an empty suit.
When farmers and small business owners begin their hue and cry for change, a movement is spreading beyond “No Kings” to Joe Blow on Main Street.
Change will come in the mid-term elections. We all need to batten the hatches for the great heave-ho that is coming. Say goodbye, Donald. Don’t let the door hit you in the rump on your way out.
