Two messes

Two years ago, running against Biden, Trump said he’d secure the border, deport illegal immigrants. Folks nodded.

When he said we couldn’t let the mullahs build nuclear weapons, and bombed Iran, folks nodded again.

But, now, as they watch how Trump’s deporting illegal immigrants, folks are frowning. They’re even more worried about the war with Iran.

What went wrong?

Trump’s a peculiar man, cut from an odd bolt of cloth – even when he tries to do the right thing, ignoring old lessons, he does it the wrong way.

ICE agents shot an unarmed man in the back in Texas; pinned an American citizen to the ground, pummeling him, in Chicago; shot, killed two American citizens in Minneapolis.

Doing the right thing the wrong way sowed havoc, left people shaking their heads.

Thinking the mullahs would quickly surrender Trump bombed Iran, made another mistake, landed in a war. Fuming, he turned to threats – standing in the U.N. boasted he would ‘annihilate’ Iran unless the mullahs gave him the deal he wanted. That didn’t work either.

Watching Trump these days is unsettling.

Doing the right thing the wrong way is human nature. But sows’ poisonous seeds. And too proud to admit mistakes, pointing fingers, Trump lays the blame on others.

But there’s no escaping poisonous seeds. So we’ve got two messes on our hands. Pray for a blessing.
