An unanswered question

Almost a week ago, before he sat down with Zelensky, Trump called Vladimir Putin who told him Ukraine had just bombed his home to kill him.

When he heard that, Trump said later, he was ‘very angry’ with Zelensky.

He then met with Zelensky – who told him what Putin had said was a complete lie.

That left Trump facing one question: Who was spinning a tale – Putin or Zelensky?

The head of the CIA set the record straight, told Trump there’d been no attack on Putin’s home – Putin was the tale spinner.

The story took an odd twist: Trump didn’t call Putin out. But when the CIA report landed in the Wall Street Journal people found out Putin was the one telling lies.

That left an unanswered question.

Hitler once spun a tale to England and France, promised if they’d give him part of Czechoslovakia he’d give them peace in return. They gave him what he wanted. Six months later he took the rest of Czechoslovakia. Then invaded Poland. War started.

Trusting a liar came with a price.

Here’s the unanswered question: Why would anyone trust Putin when he promises to stop if we give him part of Ukraine?
